Sackcloth and Ash was created in collaboration with Inlet Dance Theatre. It chronicles the journey of a politician, about to give a speech but instead, upon recognizing peril and shortcomings of society at-large, invites everyone to join in the ancient mourning practice of wearing sackcloth and covering oneself in ash. In the context of this recital, this music will hopefully underline our ability, as members of society, toward enacting necessary changes within the foster care system on a legislative level.
